Festival 101

Whether you’re a first-time attendee or a seasoned audience member, our goal is to make sure that your experience in Jonesborough is extraordinary and safe. This page gathers the most essential resources about the Festival so that they’re available at a glance, including info about where to pick up your tickets and where to park. We have also included a map of the Festival grounds.

Jonesborough is a small town, and all of our tents are within walking distance of each other. Ticket holders may choose to “park” in one tent for the day or move around the grounds to see specific performers. Either way, you’ll be exposed to diverse oral traditions from a wide range of top-tier talent.

Give me the basics on the National Storytelling Festival.

The Festival features five circus-style tents scattered throughout downtown Jonesborough. When you pick up your ticket at registration, you will be given a program that will include the daily schedule and a map of the grounds. Performance periods run simultaneously throughout the day, so you can should refer to the schedule to determine which performances they want to see.

Where do I park?

Beginning Friday, you may park your vehicle at Jonesborough Elementary School located at 306 Forest Drive. Park and ride a shuttle to the Jonesborough Visitors Center, where Festival Registration is located. For shuttle hours and parking cost, please refer to our FAQ page.
